AALNC Nurses' Brief

AALNC – PHOENIX CHAPTER    Volume 25, Issue 4
Fall 2014

President’s Message

Abby Davis, BSN, RN, CLNC

As I reflect on this past year, I am amazed that it went by so quickly! I have learned a tremendous amount this year; not only about the National AALNC and the day to day running of the Phoenix Chapter, but about myself. This has been a growth year for me as well. I had no idea what to expect as President, but found myself adapting to new situations, including resolving conflict, welcoming new members and making decisions that would affect you, the members of our Chapter. As I assumed this role, my goals for the year were to increase membership, continue to guide the running of the Chapter smoothly and efficiently, assist the other Board members with their tasks and to encourage you, the Chapter members in your endeavors. I am pleased to report that we have an increase in our membership and that we have transitioned the website to an updated version! Additionally, we have been good stewards of the Chapter’s resources and were able to trim our budget.

I want to thank our all our Board members for their tireless efforts, especially Daphne Press, who was instrumental in creating the new website. I also want to express my gratitude to Treasurer Cathy Beasley and Newsletter Chair Carolyn Kjer, long-standing Board members, who are “retiring” from service. We will certainly miss your input and dedication to the Chapter, but wish you best in your future endeavors!
Additionally, I’d like to encourage you to participate in the organization at the local or national level. Continue to be present at our bimonthly “Lunch and Learn” meetings, volunteer for a committee, ask questions, and engage in our profession.

Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful organization!

Abby Davis, BSN, RN, CLNC
